Testimonials

Words From My Clients

  • Deep Insights & Meaningful Discovery
“I have spoken to so many therapists and psychologists in the past, but I have never explored or uncovered the kinds of insights I did with you.”
A parent healing from childhood neglect
  • Life-Changing Tools & Clarity
“The practical resources and psychoeducation made so much sense to me. I only wish I had known these things earlier in my life, but I am incredibly grateful to have this understanding now.”
    Anonymous Client
  • Healing Beyond the Surface
“Thank you for being such a massive part of my healing journey, and for truly understanding the complexities of family violence. I initially came to therapy just to process a recent breakup, but I never realized I could actually heal my relational dynamics as a whole.”
    Adult Survivor of Family Violence
  • Breaking Generational Cycles
“I originally came to therapy to process family violence, anxiety, and panic attacks. Even though I had an ADHD diagnosis, I refused medication because I felt broken. Through our work, I have not only healed from the trauma and started honoring my own needs in relationships, but I also felt empowered to re-engage with my psychiatrist for my ADHD. When my psychiatrist saw me recently, she said, ‘You look like a completely different person compared to when I first diagnosed you.’
Beyond my own growing self-esteem, I am now creating a home environment where my children understand their own sensory needs and fully accept themselves. I’m able to give them the validation I never received growing up. Thank you!”
A neurodivergent mother of neurodivergent children

FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Getting Started & Logistics

You can easily book a free 15-minute consultation directly through the booking page on my website. Alternatively, feel free to email me or use the contact form with a few times that work for you, and I will call you back. This call is a relaxed, low-pressure opportunity for us to connect. We will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, you can ask any questions about my approach, and we can determine if we are a good fit. There is absolutely no obligation to book a full session afterwards.

A standard therapeutic session is 60 minutes long. This provides ample time to check in, explore what is on your mind, unpack long-standing patterns, and discuss practical strategies without ever feeling rushed.

Because everyone’s journey is unique, there is no set formula. You are completely in control of how long you choose to stay in therapy, and there is never any upfront financial or contractual commitment. Some clients find that 6 to 10 sessions are enough to navigate a current challenge, while others choose longer-term therapy to gently unpack deeper, generational patterns. We will regularly review our progress to ensure our work together continues to serve you. You simply pay as you go and can pause or conclude therapy whenever it feels right.

I understand that life happens and schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I simply ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows me to offer that time slot to another client who may be waiting for support. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee (please see my policy page for full details).

Fees, Medicare & Insurance

A standard 60-minute session is $135 AUD. Payment is required at the time you book your appointment, and I securely accept payments via bank transfer.

Currently in Australia, private counselling services are not covered under the Medicare Better Access scheme, meaning Mental Health Care Plans cannot be used for rebates. However, this offers several distinct advantages for you:

  • You do not need a GP referral or a diagnosis to see me.
  • There are no limits or caps on how many sessions you can have.
  • Your therapeutic records remain completely private and do not need to be shared with Medicare. Because I cannot offer bulk billing, my $135 session fee is intentionally structured to be gap-equivalent, meaning it closely matches the out-of-pocket gap payment you would typically expect to pay after receiving a Medicare rebate at other clinics.

Many private health funds do provide rebates for counselling, depending on your provider and level of cover. I am a registered provider with [insert relevant funds, e.g., Medibank, Bupa, ahm, ARHG]. I highly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm if your specific policy includes counselling.

My Clinical Approach

Being trauma-informed means I deeply understand how past trauma, neglect, or family violence impacts your nervous system and your relational patterns today. My focus is always on your safety and pacing. Being neuroaffirming means I view neurodivergence as a natural variation in the way human brains work, not as something broken that needs to be “fixed.” I work with you to understand your specific sensory and energetic needs, rather than trying to force you into neurotypical expectations.

My practice is integrative, meaning I draw from several evidence-based methodologies to suit what works best for you. This includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Somatic (body-based) Therapy. Rather than forcing you into a rigid, one-size-fits-all framework, I adapt these approaches to naturally match how you process the world.

Yes. A significant part of my practice is dedicated to supporting adult survivors of family violence and relational trauma, as well as working with neurodivergent individuals. I am also deeply passionate about helping parents navigate their own healing journeys while building supportive, validating environments for their children.

I hold a Master of Counselling from Monash University and am a Level-2 registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). This registration guarantees that I adhere to a strict ethical framework, maintain professional insurance, and actively engage in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.

No. My practice is strictly focused on providing a safe, highly confidential space for therapeutic healing. I do not provide legal assessments, court reports, custody recommendations, or support letters for legal proceedings. If you require documentation for court, it is best to engage a forensic psychologist or a specialist legal assessor.
