About SoulShine Counselling

A Safe, Accessible Space for Healing

I created SoulShine Counselling with a single, clear purpose: to provide a gentle, confidential, and deeply compassionate space for your healing journey. Operating entirely online, this nationwide telehealth practice was designed to break down the traditional barriers to mental health support, such as long waitlists, rigid clinical environments, and geographic limitations.

At SoulShine Counselling, the focus is entirely on you. Whether you are navigating the complexities of family violence, healing from relational trauma, or seeking a profoundly neuroaffirming space to understand your own needs, this practice is built to be a safe landing pad.

Therapy here is not about “fixing” you, because you are not broken. It is about providing a secure, collaborative environment where you can pause, safely unpack long-standing patterns, and rediscover your inner strength at a pace that honors exactly where you are.

Meet Sri

Hi, I’m Sri, the founder and counsellor behind SoulShine Counselling.

I was drawn to this work because I deeply understand that navigating the world with a history of trauma, or trying to function in a society that wasn’t built for your neurotype, is exhausting. I started this practice to create the kind of space I believe everyone deserves, one that is free from judgement, deeply empathetic, and entirely focused on your unique lived experience.

My Clinical Background & Commitment to Growth

I hold a Master of Counselling from Monash University and am a Level-2 registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). While my foundational training is comprehensive, my true passion and clinical focus lie in supporting adult survivors of family violence, healing relational trauma, and providing deeply neuroaffirming care for neurodivergent individuals and parents.

Because I believe that providing exceptional, ethical care requires a lifelong commitment to learning, I place a very high value on ongoing professional development and regular clinical supervision. This ensures my practice remains grounded in current, evidence-based research while continually refining how I hold space for my clients.

What It Is Like to Work With Me

If you choose to work with me, you can expect a therapist who is highly interactive, compassionate, and transparent. I do not just sit in silence and nod; I am right there alongside you in the work. I bring specialized, evidence-based tools such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic practices, and Narrative Therapy into our sessions, but I always adapt them to fit your brain type and your pace.

I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey.

My Philosophy

My Therapeutic Philosophy

I believe that healing begins the moment we stop judging ourselves. My approach to therapy is rooted in radical acceptance, deep empathy, and the unwavering belief that no one should have to navigate life’s struggles alone.

  • Experiences Shapes Us
You are who you are because of what you have been through. I view your reactions and coping mechanisms not as flaws, but as deeply understandable responses to your past. In our sessions, there is no “right” or “wrong”, only a safe space for curiosity and understanding.
  • The Inner Strength to Heal
I firmly believe that every single person has the innate capacity for growth and recovery. My role is not to “fix” you, but to help you clear the fog and reconnect with the inner strength and resilience you already possess.
  • Respect and Kindness as the Baseline
You deserve a space where you are treated with profound respect, warmth, and compassion. Meaningful healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and unconditionally supported without the fear of judgment.
  • A Collaborative Partnership
Navigating life’s challenges, especially trauma, anxiety, or grief, can feel incredibly isolating. But you do not have to carry that weight by yourself. Together, we will gently unpack the heavy load you have been carrying, step by step.
